Hello!
Thanks a lot man, worked like charm, here is what I did:
1. Turned on the router, connected via Ethernet, downloaded the firmware
2. Disabled my firewall, and set a fix IP address (very important, I used my current IP the router gave me)
3. Started the installer, got to the page where it asks for password.
4. Turned off the router, than on again while pressing the reset button. Keep the button pressed until the power LED turns orange than release it.
5. Click back, let it find the router once more, and than proceed with the installation.

That is something I don't know :$

I executed these actions after our tele2 subscription ended. If I were you I would be very careful since your phone config will also be erased when executing these actions.

Maybe you can give it a try if they are well-documented (but that will not be the case i guess)

with this speedtouch 706, i have internet and telephone.
is it OK to change the firmware instead of TELE2's original firmware?

i would like to have full control of my Speedtouch but i don't want to loose the internet and telephone.

HI
Thank you for above procedure. I managed to remove the limited TELE2 Firmware with the installer and store latest from Thomson. Now I am running a full network with a Belgian provider.
I would recommend though to slightly modify the procedure so that it is clear for rookies as me....
First, if your PC has settings Automatic IP detection, you will not succeed. Once you cut power from the router and press the reset before restarting, the LAN is broken and the PC will never get IP from the router in ECHEC mode. However, if you fix the LAN setting to the router IP (which you say in the end - but to my best knowledge it is mandatory for success) the PC continues the installer anticipating the IP is correct.
Second, you say hit the reset. In fact you must press and hold while restating to optain the yellow/orange light.
Fo me doing this first time, I had to try several times (1.5 hours in total) before I found the right sequence.
Just suggestions - in any case, thanks for helping. I am happy with my Speedtouch under my full control!
Cheers
